This application was created by Michael Jennewine, Andrew Kroner, and Shane Rumbaugh, Zachary Gabel, Allen Barret, and Edward Taylor as our Computer Science/Software Engineering senior design project. Our team was advised by Penn State Behrend CS/SE professor Mr. George Dudas and chemistry professor Ms. Luciana Aronne. The primary purpose of this application is to provide chemistry students with an alternative way to practice naming chemical compounds and deriving chemical formulas from compound names. Chemistry instructors can utilize this web application to create course groups for their students to join, track students progress/statistics, and add custom questions to their course groups.Students who wish to use our application can download the Chemical Pursuit mobile app to practice chemistry, view their progress/statistics, and compete with their colleagues on the class leader board.
